During 1974 and 1975 he is working with Jon Lord, the keybord
player and composer of the classic rock band "Deep Purple".
At their first mutual concert in Munich at the concluding event
of "Prix Jeunesse" of the Bavarian Broadcast Station
the official members were blocking their ears while the young
audience was dancing between the seat rows. Two LPs are produced:
"Windows" and "Sarabande". The guitarist
Andy Summers and the drummer Peter York are part of the production. |

Two years later Andy Summers gets to Munich to record with Eberhard
Schoener. Is wants to set up a new group together with the bass-player
and singer Sting and the drummer Stewart Copeland. So far they had
just released one single "Roxane" - without any big success.
Sting and Stewart are coming also to Munich to work with Eberhard
Schoener for the following months to complete the album and the
TV-production "Video Magic". They join for an extended
tour which uses Laser for the first time as an artistic medium.
Police performs as warm up band. Their song "Roxane" is
starting to succeed. "Laser In Concert" is the name of
the project and the laser-technology is flown in from the USA. In
every town it comes to arguments with the TUV (the official technical
testing laboratory of Germany) and the local fire police.
