"Nightshift (Nachtschicht)", a multi-media
event, taking place in a former steel factory in Neukirchen
as an appointment of Prime Minister Oscar Lafontaine.
The Prime Minister at that time, Mr. Oskar Lafontaine,
follows an instigation of Eberhard Schoener, to perform
an Industrial Symphony bringing back life to the dormant
steelfactory for one night.
A gigantic lightshow illuminated the steel towers, to
bring the shut down blast furnaces back to glowing heat
- on stage the State Orchestra of the Saarland is playing
with rock-musicians, a brass-band performs, electronic.
Gianna Nannini is singing songs of the Italian revolution
- the pitmen are amazed.
The Broadcast station of Saarland is putting the symphony
on the air: a tribute to the steelworkers on television.
