With his internet-opera "Virtopera" Eberhard Schoener
is getting down to a new medium of our times. The virtual
character "Cold Genius" is traveling around the
world to get in touch with people through music. Live events
in Mantua (Italy), Salvador di Bahia (Brazil), Calcutta (India)
and Cologne (Germany) are published over the internet. Artists
from all those countries are playing music together with Eberhard
Schoener and the internet-users can participate interactively
with the project. They are writing words, which are set to
music and they can decide over the fate of Cold Genius. In
Cologne the musicians of the four Live-events meet again:
amongst them Helen Schneider, who he shares a friendship between
artist for many years, Laurence Gien, who always took part
in Eberhards operas, his friends from Brazil, Mariella Santiago
and Wilson Café.
